We were going down the street in the dark, which I never do, but figured a quick walk was better than nothing, but all of a sudden a large voice came out, and I couldn't see anyone around us.
I then noticed the dog walking toward a house and realized there was a huge inflatable pumpkin with animated voice.
As I made the connection that our walking must have triggered the pumpkin's voice, I laughed so loud. It was the cutest inflatable and motion activated Halloween props I had seen. What I liked the most was the display itself was not creepy or scary, but the unexpected voice talking was soooooo frightful.
After we got home and I was retelling the story, it occurred to me that I had never seen the displays like this for Halloween. There were a lot of neighbors that put out large snow globes and inflatable Christmas trees, but the pumpkin house was a new thing for me.
Yet, as many home owners spend more time decorating their yards for different events, I figured there must be other popular displays that kids and families would love to see. To be honest, I was surprised to see the selection was enormous.
Since I can only choose a few to show you, this is the group that I came up with. Of course, they are my five favorite displays.
Headless Horseman Inflatable with Lighted Gravestones and Pumpkin
But anyway, because I like that story so much, when I saw this display, I knew I wanted to highlight it. It's really sweet with the pumpkin looking like it could be his head, and the pretty decorated horse prancing on the gravestones. There's also a little skull on the platform which could be the missing head all dried up! Because it is illuminated, it can be seen from a distance and beckons one to come have a look.
I can think of several uses for it. You could put it on the veranda or porch, add to another display in the front yard, or even use it as a decoration indoors for a party. Some bay windows are large enough to put it front and center.
Inflatable Walk Through Haunted House
Great, because this rickety spooky house is bound to delight your family and the trick or treaters. So adorable with a wicked witch, skulls, a ghost, evil tree, and tombstones, you would be afraid to enter, for sure!
The package includes everything you need to set it up and this can be done very quickly. Inflate the display whenever you are ready, and for night time viewing, it is illuminated. Use it indoors or outside to create your best Halloween scene.
One feature I do like is that it is taller than people at 8.5 feet and is quite wide. The entrance is roughly a six foot clearance, which means most people can walk inside it comfortably. Made of polyester, it is also easy to carry and move since it is just over ten pounds.
If you are looking to attract "victims", this is the one to do it. With its substantial size and lighted features, you can't help but win.
Halloween Inflatable Archway Tunnel
The cat is menacing and cute at the same time with big yellow claws on the paws, wide grinning smile, tail straight up and alert, and green eyes with orange nose.
Easily blown up with its own fan and mechanism, the lights will make the display glow in the dark.
A lot of campgrounds and trailer parks do Halloween in the Summer nights and this display would be perfect for children and adults to enjoy.
Witch Caldron Halloween Decoration
Although this is unique and absolutely a fun inflatable to have, most of the purchasers mentioned that the included six lights were not enough for their liking. Of course, it might be fine for your purpose or you can always add some small white or orange string lights, maybe a couple pumpkins with candles, or a large spotlight behind or in front of the display.
But I have to say that everyone thought this one was a spectacular show.
This inflatable is a little smaller than all the others I spoke about at just under five feet. But, it still is impressive, and can work in a small area. I love the simplicity and if you are holding a Halloween event for younger children, this is ideal. Plus it would work fine in the classroom or community hall.
It comes with stakes for outdoor use and a pocket in the bottom to put something heavy to weight it down for displaying indoors. Just need a regular electrical outlet for the fan to blow it up.
Both the pumpkin and sweet ghost are lit up, and the ghost's outstretched arms are adorable. Made of polyester fabrics, this display is inexpensive enough to use for any Halloween gathering.
Scene On Our Street
A couple years ago, the neighbors did an elaborate display in their front yard and driveway for their grandchildren. It included an inflatable haunted house complete with witch zooming away on her broom, the cat walking on the fence, and a big bright moon.
The neat thing was all the pieces were connected somehow and it was so realistic. With the slight breeze that night, you really thought the witch was flying.
To add to the scene, they rented one of those huge black cauldrons that emit smoke. Then, they had some kind of material lining the ground and spider webs all around. I have to say it was outstanding. Everyone was going down to take a look.
